I use it because I absolutely love the program; there's a lot of versatility. I am a fan of brushes and filters... I also love that you can make graphics and work with photos and such.

Why do you use it, if you do? Why don't you, if you don't?

Well, to be honest, I never really seriously checked out or use other software. I've dibbled, but not hardcore like I have with photoshop. It is what the companies had that would hire me to do video work and it does everything I need so I have zero motivation or incentive to go learn something else.

have you taken any online or formal courses on the program? it really is worth it. it is amazing how the "pros" use the program versus how most normal people use it. And the pro's will be the first to tell you that even they do not use all the features and there are multiple ways to achieve the desired results. It is arguably one of the most powerful programs ever created. So what have you done to increase your knowledge of the program?

Member Nancy is a PSP pro ... she has a forum site dedicated to it.  Perhaps shoot her a PM here or at her WowClassic site.  Or just join her PSP site here and ask:

Damn I'm full of options today!!

I'll watch your back. I don't really trust these "artist" types. "Artist" can be code for "immoral free thinker." Be careful!!!

I've never used it. Photo editing is one thing I have no skill at doing. :)

I do have the GiMP but I have never bothered learning it.

Oooo I loath photoshop LOL - I tried it back in the day and the learning curve was a little to steep for my liking, which is to say - I suppose I didn't have much patience for learning something new. BUT - I have actually started doing quite a bit of freelance graphics creation. The program I use and swear by is PhotoImpact by Ulead. There are tons of options, it's easy to use AND it's cheap. At $69.99 - it's the best graphics program on the market IMO - especially considering all the grade-a feature it comes with right out-of-box.

Jacquii.

Start to learn photoshop in 98/99, and now stick with it.. live with it, I'm working with photoshop all the time, it is the greatest software ever created. If you are a photographer..its a totally different world from a web designer but using the same photoshop platform.

I used to do my graphic artwork on a program called Jasc Paint Shop Pro which I thought was rather good. When I heard about Adobe Photoshop from a friend of mine, I decided to use it and in my honest opinion, I would prefer Adobe Photoshop over Jasc Paint Shop Pro. I started to learn Adobe Photoshop in 2003 and I have really liked using it since.
